A conference involves presentations by speakers with differing viewpoints from           various walks of life – diplomatic, business and the charities sector.

We then have break-out groups where students discuss issues and prepare questions for speakers.   This is often an excellent opportunity for students from difference schools to meet and debate.  The students present their group discussions and ask the speakers questions often leading to lively debates.

Asking questions in front of an audience builds confidence in young people.  We have found that pupils who have never had experience of talking in front of an audience or are timid, have been inspired to stand up and ask questions, often surprising themselves with their abilities.  The conferences have a lot of input from our honorary officers many of whom have been teachers and are experienced in working with young people.
