How and why stop climate change?

Climate change is blamed for devastating floods, drought and other extreme weather with negative impacts on habitats and humans. The UN climate talks in December 2011 did not stop the world from its dangerous path to a four degree temperature rise, but the principle that climate change should be tackled through international law was re-established. In addition, a “green climate fund” has been made operational. Is progress being made towards tackling climate change and what else should be done in your opinion?

A group of 25 lecturers, students and other interested people visited the European Parliament, and Commission and the Council of the European Union, The European External Action Service (EEAS) and Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE). The EEAS formed in 2010 is a European Union department which serves as a foreign ministry and diplomatic corps of the EU overseen by the British MEP Catherine Ashton.
